Divine intervention as Perceptive receives holy orders

The Church of England calls upon Perceptive

The Church of England replaces paper processes with Perceptive Software

By ECM Plus staff

ECM Plus +++ ECM and BPM bellwether Perceptive Software has just begun a project with the Church of England to streamline the selection process for candidates applying to join the Ordained Ministry.

According to the Church, the Ministry Division will replace its paper-based processes with an electronic system, integrated with its new HR and payroll systems.

Perceptive said the project is being completed in partnership with NorthgateArinso (NGA) using ImageNow from Perceptive. The initial application form, now web based with ImageNow eForm, and all supplementary information relating to the candidate, will be scanned, collated and securely stored in electronic applicant folders.

The Church said it hoped that a paper-based system will improve the sharing, management and security of all necessary documentation, throughout the rigorous selection process.

The Reverend Stephen Ferns who oversees the ordination selection process at the Church of England commented: “Every year the Ministry Division runs around 50 Bishops’ Advisory Panels and we assess 16 candidates at each Panel. Inevitably, this process generates a considerable amount of paperwork. We look forward to working with the new system and to the benefits and improvements it will bring.”

Perceptive said the system is now fully-integrated with ResourceLink Aurora, the integrated HR and payroll solution being implemented by NGA. Applicants that reach the interview stage are automatically passed to ResourceLink Aurora for an interview to be scheduled. Successful applicants can then be easily added to the payroll solution to form a complete process from beginning to end.

This project is a collaboration between Perceptive and NGA, which recently announced a seven-year contract to provide the Church of England with HR and Payroll for the 16,000 clergy and administrative staff across Britain.
