Integration offers fully-open source ECM – BI package

ECM Plus +++ Nuxeo has just delivered a new package in its Marketplace that connects its enterprise platform-based applications with the open source Business Intelligence tool Eclipse BIRT developed by Actuate.

Actuate said the Nuxeo BIRT integration would now be able to offer report design and access from within a Nuxeo ECM application.

The company said it now believes that this linking of ECM and BI would also offer a compelling solution to some common and emerging challenges facing today’s content management architects, such as support for ECM governance.

Business analytics and reporting from the ECM application enable the generation of automated, actionable metrics for content-centric solutions.

The Nuxeo-BIRT integration would also be able to offer reporting capabilities on top of Nuxeo EP-based applications, enabling the design, rendering, and access of reports and analytics, Actuate said.

Their BIRT Engine has been integrated in Nuxeo EP, so that reporting capabilities are available without leaving the Nuxeo application, and security controls can be managed in one place. The solution addresses the needs of content management solution architects, by offering advanced reporting tools within the Nuxeo ECM platform.

It would also adress needs of ECM application users, by providing easy, secure access to sophisticated, real-time reports directly from the ECM application interface, Actuate added.
