By ECM Plus

ECM Plus +++ AvePoint has just released a public beta of its new DocAve 6, which it claims is now an enterprise-class management platform for SharePoint governance.

According to the company, this sixth version of DocAve enables security and compliance for enterprise content.

Version 6 extends DocAve’s capabilities to unify management of on-premise, cloud and hybrid SharePoint farms, including Office 365, the company said.

Furthermore, the firm said it was also introducing so-called ‘Governance Automation’, which it said provides an means to roll out and enforce SharePoint governance policies, with automated, end-to-end service and information management.

DocAve 6 also boasts a capability to migrate to SharePoint 2010, to configure and administer SharePoint farms, as well as optimizing storage and performance and ensuring the integrity and availability of content.

DocAve 6 also offers organizations a way to standardize, apply, and enforce corporate and IT policies across distributed content throughout the entire information lifecycle, AvePoint said.

Also, user and content provisioning will ensure consistent application of permissions, while new and modified content can be scanned to apply business rules regarding inappropriate content or personal information. #

Organizations can also implement auditing via DocAve 6’s audit capability and reporting centre, as well as retention policies through content vaulting and tiered storage management.
