ECM Plus +++ Iron Mountain has just opened one of Europe’s largest document scanning and indexing centres for organisations to manage information in the face of what it calls “increasingly stringent national and EU regulation”.
According to Iron Mountain, the centre is in in Stafford, England and will expand its network of European imaging facilities to 56 across 19 nations.
The new Stafford centre will offer document management services with a production environment of just under 25,000 square feet, offering up to 250 million documents per annum, at full capacity.
Such offerings will include customer mail, including private items such as invoices, application forms and HR files, which can come directly to the site where it is sorted, prepared and scanned, with the required data pulled out and delivered in a format that is ready for customers to use in systems.
Iron Mountain confirmed that it will be processing “highly sensitive and confidential information” at the centre.
The company stated that all services provided were “fully-compliant” with ‘European national’ and ‘international’ law.
Other services to be offered via by the new centre will include logistics for secure document collection and delivery, ‘intelligent’ scanning, information extraction, indexing and validation, as well as secure storage, rapid data retrieval for legal disclosure or auditing purposes, and end-of-life, ‘legally-compliant shredding’ or destruction of documents.
