EPiServer optimises collaboration and customer experience with EPiServer Connect for SharePoint

ECM Plus +++ Content management bellwether EPiServer has just launched its new EPiServer Connect for SharePoint product, in what the company claims as being the first add-on of its kind integrating SharePoint 2013, 2010 and/or 2007 with EPiServer 7 CMS.

EpiServer said the new version enables business users to bring their SharePoint assets to the web with EPiServer Connect for SharePoint also helping marketers to use SharePoint enterprise content management and to convert internal collaboration into online marketing results, EpiServer said.

‘Stop Corporate Takeover of Internet Names Petition” launched

ECM Plus +++ An internet activist has launched a petition to prevent large companies control over Chinese, Japanese, English and many other new top internet addresses.

“We believe this is an abuse of the New gTLD Program and it poses great risk of harm to consumers, business, and internet users globally” declares Tom Gilles, NewgTLDsite.com  TLD-vangelist and petition organizer. “These generic category top level domain names such as .app, .book, .music, and others should be open for the general public, not monopolized and closed off for use by one large corporation exclusively at their sole discretion.” Continue reading

Online retail giant and auction behemoth site lobbyists found to be writing EU data protection law in copy-paste legislation scandal

ECM Plus +++ A European privacy group claimed today that dozens of amendments to the new Data Protection Regulation being proposed by Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are being copied word-for-word from corporate lobby papers, with MEPs frequently failing to even remember their own amendments. Max Schrems, of the website and campaign Europe v Facebook, noticed striking similarities between proposed amendments and lobby papers written by representatives of Amazon, eBay, the American Chamber of Commerce and the European Banking Federation.
